Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using House Plan App, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you disagree, do not use the App. House Plan App is provided by an individual developer (“Provider”). These Terms create a binding agreement between you and the Provider.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Description of Service
House Plan App is a household management application enabling users to:
- Organize and assign chores
- Track household expenses
- Manage budgets and shared payments
- Collaborate with household members through shared houses
The App operates on free and subscription-based (Pro) tiers with feature limitations based on subscription level.
3. User Eligibility
You represent and warrant that:
- You have legal capacity to enter this agreement
- You will use the App in compliance with all applicable laws
- You are the account holder or authorized to act on their behalf
No age restrictions exist, though younger users should have parental guidance. Household members should understand that data entered may be visible to other members.
4. User Accounts & Responsibilities
4.1 Account Creation
You may create an account via email and password, Google Sign-In, or Apple Sign-In.
4.2 Your Responsibilities
- Maintaining account credential confidentiality
- All activities occurring under your account
- Ensuring provided information is accurate and complete
- Promptly notifying the Provider of unauthorized access
4.3 Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Use the App for illegal or unauthorized purposes
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Attempt unauthorized access to the App or other accounts
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover source code
- Collect data about other users without consent
- Interfere with or disrupt App functionality or servers
- Impersonate another person or entity
5. Data Collection & Privacy
5.1 What Data We Collect
User-Provided Data:
- Account information (email, name, household members)
- Household data (chores, expenses, budgets, payments, shared notes)
- Profile preferences and settings
Automatically Collected via Third Parties:
Firebase (Google)
Authentication, real-time sync, cloud storage
Collects: Device identifiers, authentication logs, usage analytics
RevenueCat
In-app purchase and subscription management
Collects: Purchase history, subscription status, device identifiers
5.2 Data Usage
- Provide and improve App functionality
- Synchronize household data across your devices
- Process subscriptions and payments through RevenueCat
- Communicate about service updates or issues
- Comply with legal obligations
5.3 Data Sharing
Data is not shared with third parties beyond Firebase (cloud sync and authentication) and RevenueCat (payment processing). Household data is only visible to members you explicitly add to your household.
6. Data Deletion & Retention
6.1 Account Deletion
Upon account deletion:
- All personal data, household data, chores, expenses, and settings are permanently deleted
- Deletion occurs immediately and is irreversible
6.2 Retained Data
After deletion, the Provider may retain:
- Anonymized usage statistics (for service improvement)
- Logs required for security or legal compliance (limited time periods)
7. Subscription & Billing
7.1 Subscription Tiers
- Free Tier – Limited features and household size
- Pro Tier – Unlimited features and higher limits
7.2 Payment Processing
- Subscriptions process through RevenueCat via Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Billing occurs through your app store account
- You must provide accurate payment information
7.3 Refunds
Refunds are governed by Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies. Contact those services directly for refund requests.
7.4 Subscription Changes
- You may cancel anytime through your app store account settings
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- The Provider reserves the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 No Warranties
The Provider does not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for your specific purpose.
8.2 No Liability for Data Loss
You are responsible for backing up important household data. The Provider is not liable for any loss, corruption, or unavailability of data due to network failures, device failures, or other technical issues. Deleted data cannot be recovered.
8.3 Limitation of Damages
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of profits, revenue, or data. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is discontinuing use of the App.
9. Modifications to Service
The Provider reserves the right to:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue the App or any features at any time
- Change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice
- Update these Terms at any time
Continued use following modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Account Termination
10.1 Termination by Provider
The Provider may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in illegal or harmful activity, or your account is inactive for an extended period.
10.2 Upon Termination
- Your App access is immediately revoked
- Your data is deleted per Section 6
- Any outstanding subscription charges may still apply
11. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with:
- Firebase (Google) – Cloud infrastructure and authentication
- RevenueCat – Payment processing and subscription management
- Apple & Google – App distribution and in-app purchases
These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. The Provider is not responsible for their conduct. You should review their policies independently.
12. Intellectual Property
12.1 App Ownership
The App, including all code, design, graphics, and content, is owned or licensed by the Provider and protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
12.2 User Content License
By using the App, you grant the Provider a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process and store your household data, display it within the App for collaborative features, and use anonymized data for service improvement. You retain ownership of your data and may delete it at any time.
13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by United States law, without regard to conflict of law principles.
13.2 Dispute Resolution
Disputes shall be resolved through:
- Good faith negotiation between parties
- If unresolved, binding arbitration (rather than court proceedings)
- Claims must be brought within one year of the cause of action
14. Severability
If any portion of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining Terms remain in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with any privacy notices or other terms posted in the App, constitute the entire agreement regarding your use of the App.

17. Changes to These Terms
The Provider may update these Terms at any time. Changes are effective upon posting. Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of updated Terms. Review these Terms periodically for changes.
